Come hear Paul and Georgean Kyle tell us their story as founders and stewards of the Chaetura Canyon Sanctuary in western Travis County. Now donated by the Kyle’s to Travis Audubon, where they continue to live as Sanctuary Stewards, the preserve of some 15+ acres is home to some 30 nesting birds, including of course the Chimney Swifts that make Chaetura famous. The Kyle’s will discuss restoration efforts, the natural history of Chaetura pelagica, and recent research about this species.
