Conservation Days at Lost Pines

December 7, 2019 @ 8:15 am – 12:00 pm

Lost Pines Scout Reservation is a 541 acre tract in the Bastrop area Lost Pines ecotone.  Help restore and conserve this unique ecosystem while working with the next generation of conservationists and naturalists.   Volunteers are needed to help lead projects, work with youth removing invasive and encroachment species, install erosion control, reduce soil compaction and other habitat restoration measures.   We will meet at 8:15am in the main parking area for a short safety briefing and then head out to the work site.  Please bring weather appropriate clothes, gloves, water and a snack, sunscreen and hat, safety glasses and sturdy shoes.   We will return to the cars by 12 noon and then participants can go eat lunch (bring your own) at our nature pavilion (someday to be a full building) or head home.   After 1p.m. we will have Leave No Trace activities or training and a monthly bioblitz.  Volunteers are welcome to stay for the afternoon activities.  Please email Jessica Snider if you wish to help.
